This shrub was rather shy of flowering for some years, but is here shown producing its fabulously scented flowers in June 2006. This type flowers less profusely than the plain green leaved ones, but its bright foliage is cheerful from spring through summer - though it needs to be in partial shade as its leaves bleach in bright sunshine.
